Onion Pulao (3 Pack)

$18.00

Onion Pulao is excellent by itself, but extremely tasty with a protein of choice! The flavors blend so well that you will think they were created for each other. This dish is intentionally soothing and low on spice, but contains great flavor from the cloves, cumin, and cardamom (say that 3 times fast) in each bite. Great for impressing others, or bringing some over to a dinner party!

What was your childhood like? I grew up with my grandparents living in my household, and my grandmother is an amazing cook. Every afternoon after I came back from school, my grandmother would prepare an afternoon snack for me. I loved the feeling of stepping into my home to the delicious aromas of my grandmother's cooking.

Which Buttermilk packet(s) are your favorite? Upma and sambar - it reminds me so much of my grandmother's upma and sambar!

What did you want to be when you grew up? A movie star!

What do you like to mix in with your packets? Buttermilk packets are great for handling the "hard" part of cooking an Indian meal. I always mix them with rice and sometimes a simple veggie curry or raita. I love to make pulao and raita and have it with either the Buttermilk daal or the chana masala - makes for a hearty meal! I also like to make a simple red potato curry and have it with rasam and rice.
