IT STARTED WITH A HOMESICK STUDENT
When our founder moved away from home for the first time, she realized how hard it was to make or find her favorite foods she grew up with. Once she found a way to make her favorite rasam by just adding water, she started Buttermilk so that everyone could enjoy their comfort foods no matter what cuisine.
And why are we called Buttermilk? In South India, a common comfort dish is buttermilk and rice. And, it just so happens to be our founder's favorite comfort food.
